I am pleased to open applications for my internship program!
This program provides workplace experience in public policy and community representation, and an insight into the operations of a Member of Parliament’s office.
Program structure
The internship will consist of a one day a week commitment, running for eight weeks.
Day-to-day tasks will include:
- Preparing a research project, relating to one of Zoe’s policy portfolios or an issue in the Flinders electorate (to be discussed with the Member)
- Answer phone calls to the office
- Assist in the management of constituent issues
- Assist staff with digital content
- Attend community events with the Member
- Assist the Member with research for a media appearance
- Other general office tasks as required
The internship will be conducted from my electorate office, 1/49 Eramosa Road West, Somerville VIC 3912.
At the end of the internship, subject to their performance, the intern will receive a written reference.
Requirements:
Applicants must:
- Be studying at a Victorian tertiary institution (exceptions can be made);
- Have an understanding and appreciation of Liberal values;
- Be available 10am-4pm one day of the work week (day can be negotiated around study commitments); and
- Be of good character.

This is an unpaid internship program, conducted in accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth). There should be no expectation of payment, either during or after the internship program. The program is run for the benefit of the intern.
