The Fred Hollows Foundation is calling for nominations from across Flinders for the 2024 Humanity Awards, which celebrate Year 6 students in their communities who embody kindness, compassion and integrity.
Schools and members of the community can nominate a year 6 student, who care for others in a practical way like Fred did, at The Fred Hollows Humanity Award | Fred Hollows Foundation before Sunday, July 21.
Founding Director Gabi Hollows also encouraged people to nominate those who care for others in a decent, practical and no-nonsense way.
“We’ve been blown away by the calibre of nominees we’ve received since the Humanity Awards first launched,” Gabi said.
“The awards help celebrate the humanitarian spirit of young Australians, which was something Fred had great faith in. These students go out of their way to create a better world, and we would love to see even more people nominated this year.”
A Junior Ambassador from each state and territory will be named, and celebrated at hybrid ceremony in November of this year.
