Sages Cottage in Baxter is a 38-acre farm and café open to the public, and run by people with a disability. Sages Cottage desperately needs government funding for an Inclusive Jobs Hub, to provide more employment pathways for people with a disability. 80 special needs young adults currently operate the farm and cottage, under the guidance of coaches with experience in hospitality and horticulture. But the program is so successful that demand for training places vastly exceeds Sages Cottage’s capacity. Funding from the Federal Government for the Inclusive Jobs Hub would allow for an upgrade in the farm’s training capacity, from 100 clients to 150 clients.
